How review works
How a permit application is reviewed
The same review path for every application, so status always means the same thing.
Guided eligibility path
A short set of questions determines which permit type applies and what documents are required.
Application intake
You submit the application with required documents and receive a reference number.
Reviewer assignment
Your application is assigned to a reviewer based on permit type and current queue load.
Review & decision
The reviewer checks the application against requirements. If something is missing, you'll get a specific deficiency request rather than a generic denial.

Help and accessibility
Talk to the permitting office
Office hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Phone and in-person help is available for every task on this page, including applications started elsewhere.
Accessibility on this site
Every step on this page — the eligibility wizard, document checklist, and status lookup — can be completed with a keyboard alone, and no status is shown using color as the only signal. If something isn’t working with a screen reader or assistive technology, tell the office and they’ll complete the task with you directly.
What “deficiency” means
A deficiency is not a denial. It means your reviewer needs a specific item — like an updated site plan — before they can continue. You’ll always see exactly what’s requested, not a generic “incomplete” status.
